The ECHO Program has two major components, the ECHO Cohort Consortium — for observational research, and the ECHO IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network (ISPCTN) — for intervention research. NIH has established the essential components of the ECHO Program to support research that focuses on five pediatric health outcome areas:

• Pre-, peri-, and postnatal
• Upper and lower airway
• Obesity
• Neurodevelopment
• Positive Health
